How the paper is actually weighted

MDCAT 2026 is 180 MCQs, paper-based, marked +1 for every correct answer with no negative marking — so nothing is ever left blank. Here's where the marks live, and how past high-scorers have spent their study hours.

Biology · high-yield

  • Genetics & Evolution
  • Coordination & Control
  • Reproduction
  • Bioenergetics
  • Cell Biology & Cell Division

Chemistry · high-yield

  • Organic reaction mechanisms
  • Chemical equilibrium & kinetics
  • s-, p- and d-Block trends
  • Electrochemistry
  • Biochemistry basics

Physics · high-yield

  • Mechanics & rotational motion
  • Electromagnetism & EM induction
  • Modern & nuclear physics
  • Current electricity
  • Waves & oscillations

English & Reasoning

  • Only 18 marks combined — but pure practice, no memorising
  • Drill grammar & vocabulary daily in short bursts
  • Time-box logical reasoning puzzles to 60–90 sec each
  • Never skip these two on any test day
01
Attempt every single MCQ.There's no negative marking, so a blank answer and a wrong guess score the same — zero. An educated guess can only help.
02
Weight your hours like the paper does.Biology and Chemistry together carry 70% of the marks — start revision there, then layer in Physics, English and Reasoning.
03
Simulate real test conditions.Time each mock, sit it in one block without pausing, and mark it with a pencil-and-OMR mindset — no calculators, phones, or smart watches.
04
Review every wrong answer the same day.A mock test is only worth as much as the error log you pull out of it — note the concept, not just the question.
05
Use the two Sundays to catch up, not coast.19 and 26 July are built-in slack days — reserved for whichever test slipped, plus light revision.

Figures above reflect the PMDC Uniform Curriculum as publicly confirmed for MDCAT 2026 (180 MCQs, no negative marking). Always cross-check the final syllabus, paper pattern and test date against the official PMDC notice at pmdc.pk before finalising your plan.
